Ethos Church
What Is the Prayer Service?
The Prayer Service at ETHOS is a dedicated gathering where the church seeks the presence and guidance of God together through prayer and Scripture.
From the earliest days of the church, believers devoted themselves to prayer (Acts 1:14; Acts 2:42). Prayer is not a secondary activity in the life of the church. It is central to our dependence on God.
During these gatherings, we intentionally slow down and give space for the church to seek the Lord together. Scripture is read, worship may be sung, and guided times of prayer help the congregation pray for personal needs, the church, our city, and the advancement of the gospel.
Prayer is how the church aligns itself with the will of God.
What the Prayer Service Is Like
Prayer gatherings at ETHOS are simple, reverent, and focused on Christ.
The atmosphere is quiet and reflective, creating space for individuals and families to seek the Lord personally while also praying together as a church body.
During the service you may experience:
- Scripture readings that guide prayer
- Times of personal prayer and reflection
- Corporate prayer led by pastors or ministry leaders
- Worship that centers our hearts on Christ
- Prayer for the needs of the church and community
No one is pressured to pray out loud. Some come to listen, reflect, and seek the Lord quietly. Others participate through corporate prayer.
The goal is not performance or emotion. The goal is dependence on God.
Jesus taught that His house would be called a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13). These gatherings help cultivate that kind of church.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Philippians 4:6
